When Disney+ first launched, Disney made sure to take extra precautions with older films that featured any controversial or outdated scenes by placing a warning in the description. Disney then decided to update the warning by acknowledging the negative depictions and/or the mistreatment of people and culture. The new warning would be shown before the older films saying:
"This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or culture. These stereotypes were wrong then and wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknlowedge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together. Disney is committed to creating stories with inspiration and aspirational themes that reflect the rich diversity of the human experience around the globe. To learn more about how stories have impacted society visit www.Disney.com/StoriesMatter."
Now, Disney+ decided to make even more changes by completely removing some of these films from the movie library for viewers watching on children’s profiles. Disney has blocked these movies for anyone under the age of 7 from watching the old classics. The movies include: Peter Pan, The Aristocats, Swiss Family Robinson, Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, and more as it breaches content advisories. If you want to watch these movies with your kids, you'll have to access it through a normal Disney+ profile instead of a child's profile.
