60% Of Americans Would Let A Brand Sponsor Their Wedding

Would you let a brand put their logo on your wedding cake or invitations? Tying the knot can be incredibly expensive, new research from Zola finds the cost of the average wedding in the U.S. is now $36-thousand. So it’s not surprising that brides and grooms are open to options to help keep costs down, including letting a brand sponsor their wedding.

In a new survey of 2-thousand Americans, 61% say they’d happily consider allowing a brand to sponsor their big day in exchange for paying some of the wedding bill.

  • Only 32% would reject any and all offers from a brand to sponsor their wedding.
  • For the nearly two-thirds who would be open to the idea, how much would they need from the brand to say yes?
  • Respondents say the brand would need to cover 65% of the wedding bill to be included in some way.
  • But if the brand covered the entire cost of the wedding, people would give them some leeway.
  • More than half (58%) would let a brand sponsor a signature cocktail.
  • And 57% would allow the brand logo to be on the table, signs, napkins or invitations.
  • Over half (54%) would even let the brand give away freebies and merchandise to their guests.
  • A third say they would happily let the brand’s mascot attend the wedding as a guest and 20% would even let the mascot or brand rep officiate the wedding.
  • Another 33% would be fine with the brand logo being on their wedding cake, if it paid for their entire wedding.
  • Mentioning the brand in their wedding vows would be okay with 18% of respondents.
  • And 17% would even let the brand put their logo on the bride’s wedding dress if the whole wedding would be free.
