Pro Tip: Don’t Accidentally Spill The Cobras

It’s all fun and games until you that container containing venomous cobras gets knocked over. According to the Sioux Falls Police Department, a 911 call came in reporting a “snake bite” last Sunday. Officers with animal control say they arrived at an apartment that was serving as home for an eastern diamondback rattlesnake and two African forest cobras. The rattler was safely restrained in a glass container, but the two cobras were let loose when the “plastic totes” they were in were “knocked over.” Apparently, the owner of the snakes accidentally stepped on one of them, resulting in a bite. That unnamed snake-handler was taken to a local hospital, and his condition hasn’t been revealed. The snakes were eventually rounded up and taken to the Reptile Gardens Zoo, and charges against the man are currently being considered.
