Get ready to feel like a kid again because Toys’R’Us is getting the live-action treatment with a movie based on the iconic toy store. “Toys’R’Us is a cultural touchstone that continues impacting the child in all of us today,” says Story Kitchen’s Dmitri M. Johnson and Mike Goldberg, calling it “one of the most magical places on Earth.” The film, still in early development, promises to blend nostalgia with a fresh, high-energy adventure. “It will be a journey as boundless as play itself,” said Toys’R’Us Studios president Kim Miller Olko. Think “Night at the Museum” meets “Jumanji” with a dash of “Barbie” as the inspo for the flick. Casting and more details are still under wraps, but the magic is definitely in motion and we can’t wait to be a Toys’R’Us kid again.
