A Calabasas, California mom is being praised for her toughness after giving birth on her front porch. Natasha Downing's doorbell camera captured the whole scene as her water broke while leaving her home at 39 weeks.
The labor escalated quickly, and Natasha ended up squatting down and delivering her baby girl, Lilybella, right on the doorstep. Her husband, Tom, was by her side throughout the unexpected birth.
Natasha said she knew she "wasn't making it to the birthing center" after her water broke. She had seen her midwife earlier for a membrane sweep to induce labor naturally. Labor pains started mildly, so the couple delayed heading to the center—but nature had other plans. Despite the suddenness, Natasha described the experience as "healing and really amazing."
